Course Description:
Prerequisite: BIBL 2355

This course presents the biblical Old Testament as a sequence of events, concepts, and theological principles. It traces the creation of the world, the history of the Hebrew nation, and the poetry and prophecies of the Old Testament.

Course Goals and Objectives:
1. Have read and discussed the creation and early history of the world from a Biblical world view;
2. Have read and discussed the origin of the Hebrew nation and its early history;
3. Be exposed to the Mosaic Law and its major tenets;
4. Understand the purpose and themes of the poetic books of the Old Testament;
5. Have read and discussed the prophetic books of the Old Testament;
6. Be exposed to the role of the Old Testament in the arrival and life of Jesus Christ;
7. Be exposed to the major controversies and issues surrounding Old Testament teaching and interpretation.
