Course Description:
Principles of biology with emphasis on the relationship between humankind and modern biological science. Topics include cell biology, inheritance, and an introduction to ecology.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will:
1. Understand the cellular and molecular basis of life
2. Understand cells, their makeup and operations
3. Be exposed to the major specie groups and their characteristics
4. Understand photosynthesis
5. Be introduced to reproduction, inheritance, and basic genetics
6. Consider the scientific basis for the origin of the species
7. Be introduced to the earth's environment and its properties.
