In his classic lecture series devoted to "The Principles of Logic," JE Barrett provides a clear, understandable introduction to logic and how it is used.

Then, please review Craig Hawkins' article, The Nature and Necessity of Logic

Assignment:

Please provide a report titled "How Logic Works"

Your report should be a thorough explanation of the basics of logic. It may be general, but complete. Be sure to address the following issues:

What is logic?
Why is logic important?
What happens in the absence of logic?
What is a statement? (Give multiple examples)
What is an argument?(Give multiple examples)
What is a premise? (Give multiple examples)
What is a conclusion? (Give multiple examples)
What are logical systems? (Give examples of known logical systems)

Your report should be 5-8 well-written pages addressing the issues listed above and any others that may enlighten the topic.

All sources must be properly cited in MLA or APA style (your choice).
