Logic is one of the most powerful and controversial forces in our lives. It is the process of seeking and discerning truth.

In this course, we consider the "philosophy of logic." The "philosophy" that has been developed to describe logic is deep and somewhat obscure. Therefore, we will work mainly with applications of the "philosophy of logic" rather than grinding through the sheer philosophy.

Our main objective is to be able to hear a statement, position or argument and know whether or not it is "logical" based on sound, established principles.

Understanding the foundations of logic is important, so that is where we will begin. Then we will work on the process of analyzing rhetoric, developing sound arguments, and using logic to comprehend the world around us.
