Course Description:
This course presents a survey and analysis of approaches to economic organization. Key topics include the elements of economic organization, comparison of methods of economic management, the operation of the market economy, and an overview of the economic systems of several contemporary nations.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will:

1. Understand economic organization and the principles and components that make up any         economy.

2. Possess a framework with which to compare and contrast economic systems.

3. Address and explore current shifts in economic priority among the nations of the world.

4. Understand the development of the free enterprise economy in its contrast to traditional definitions of capitalism.

5. Be aware of the economic management systems in place in key world regions and countries.
