Course Description:
In this orientation course, learners are introduced to the concept and applications of Great Ideas. The ability to analyze and evaluate the quality of ideas is developed. Special emphasis is place on the application of Great Ideas to contemporary life and society.

    Course Goals and Objectives:
    Upon completion of this course, students will:
    1. Recognize differences in the value of ideas;
    2. Develop a framework for evaluating ideas;
    3. Recognize characteristics of a great idea;
    4. Identify the Great Ideas in science and math, art, philosophy, and history;
    5. Evaluate Great Ideas in the context of contemporary life and society.
