Assignments for this course take the form of written summaries, research, and analysis. They are designed to help us work through the course objectives, while keeping a focus on our spiritual growth through conceptual learning.

For each assignment, please develop a document and submit it to me in either Microsoft Word or HTML format (your word processing software should permit you to do a "save as" and choose either of those formats).

 

Important: Ask the Holy Spirit to speak the truth of God to you each time you do an assignment. 

 

 

Assignment #1

 

Readings: Right from Wrong

                    Chapter 1: A Generation in Crisis

                   Chapter 2: Truth Matters

                   Chapter 3: A Seismic Shift

 

Length 4-5 pages

 

Why is important to look at the long-term, future benefits of right choices over the immediate gratification of counterfeits? Also, what does it mean to acquire ethical values from a Christian worldview?

 

 

Assignment #2

 

Readings: Right from Wrong

                    Chapter 4: From Generation to Generation

                   Chapter 5: More Fact than Fiction

                   Chapter 6: The Test of Truth

               

Length 4-5 pages

 

How can the precepts of Scripture be used to determine absolute truth in your life? And, what does it mean to use the Test of Truth to make ethical decisions?

 

 

Assignment #3

                    Chapter 7: The Evidence of Truth

                   Chapter 8: Teaching the Truth

                   Chapter 9: Coming to Terms with the Truth

 

Length 4-5 pages

 

What does it mean to use the Evidence of Truth to make ethical decisions? How do you come to terms with the Truth and how would you teach the Truth to others?

 

 

Assignment #4

                    Chapter 10: What’s the Truth about Sex?

                   Chapter 11: What’s the Truth about Honesty?

                   Chapter 12: What’s the Truth about Family?

 

Length 4-5 pages

 

Why does ethics have such an impact in the areas sexual morality, integrity and family? Why is it important to understand God’s gift of sex according to the principles he has given and for the purposes He has designed for it?

                   Chapter 14: Making it Right

                   Introduction to Research Analysis

                   Chapter 15: Survey Analysis on Love and Sex

 

Length 4-5 pages

 

How do Christian ethics set a foundation to evaluate all other truths? How do use your understanding of Christian ethics to evaluate all truths that impact your life on a daily basis?

 

Assignment #6

                   Chapter 17: Survey Analysis on Faith and Religion

                   Chapter 18: Survey Analysis on Attitudes and Lifestyles
