Course Description:
This course explores the social and spiritual processes by which human beings have developed ideas about God. It explores the nature of fundamental truth and its adoption by societies, concepts of morality and their development, and notions of the afterlife and their influence on human behavior.

Course Goals and Objectives:
1. Be familiar with the historical record of the development of theology as a discipline;
2. Be exposed to the processes by which human beings develop concepts about God;
3. Be aware of the role of revelation in theology;
4. Be aware of the role of investigation in theology;
5. Understand how people and societies come to understand fundamental truths;
6. Understand how concepts about death and the afterlife influence human behavior.
