Course Description:

The role of faith in the creation of visual art from the time of Christ through the Renaissance is investigated. Great works of art and their biblical inspirations are examined in detail.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will:

1. Be prepared to identify classical art works created after the time of Christ through the Renaissance;

2. Understand the role of faith in creating classical art;

3. Be aware of the biblical inspirations for great art of the period;

4. Possess a framework for understanding the impact of great art on the faith of Christian believers.
