Course Description:
The introduction and reinforcement of basic mathematical skills. Topics include algebraic techniques, coordinate geometry, functions and their graphs, logarithms and exponential functions. A hand-held calculator is required.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will:
1. Comprehend the logic of mathematical sets
2. Have a basic understanding of the nature of probability, variation and statistics
3. Understand the impact of mathematics on their life experience
4. Be able to use geometry and trigonometry for making measurements
5. Have a basic understanding of linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions and their applications
6. Understand how to choose and use mathematical tools to solve problems.
