Course Description:

 

This course provides an overview of financial management in church and ministry organizations. Key topics include budget development and administration, cash flow management, funding and fund raising, and using information technology to manage church and ministry finances.

 

Course Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will:

 

1. Understand principles of finance in the nonprofit setting;
2. Be able to read and analyze church financial statements;
3. Be exposed to the process of developing a church budget;
4. Be exposed to key financial controls in the church environment;
5. Understand the role of funding and fund raising in the church;
6. Be exposed to the role of information technology in church financial administration and strategy.
