Course Description:
An overview of the Bible as a source of historical, spiritual, moral, and intellectual literature. This course traces the development of the Bible as a document and provides an introduction to the major characters, events, and themes of the Christian scripture.

Course Goals and Objectives:
1. Have read and discussed the major Old Testament and New Testament books of the Bible;
2. Have considered the Bible for its accuracy and relevance as historical literature;
3. Consider the spiritual claim of the Bible as the Word of God;
4. Have been exposed to the major characters of the Old and New Testaments;
5. Understand the major general themes of the Bible;
6
. Develop a personal statement as to the Bible's truth claims.
